Why me?!
Born 2003, F, from London, United KingdomMonday 16th November 2013
Dear diary,
We are moving now. Father and Mother can't stand each other anymore so now EVERY week I have to go to their houses. This week I’m staying at dad's next week Ma’s and the week after dads. It was all because me! I didn't mean to though... I had just had enough of them bickering at each other ALL the time. I was the only child in our family, but it didn't feel like it. It felt like they were the children and I was the single parent taking care of them. Even Nana had enough of them! When we last visited her as a family, it was a mess, Nana had to kick us out and I LOVED staying at Nana's with her little puppy and kitten- Jiji and Tiddles. I’m packing my stuff from father’s house now and mum is waiting outside. She wouldn’t dare come in because it would be another riot for both of them! I’d better hurry because soon mum was going to lose her patience; I mean she is definitely not a type of person with a lot of patience. I ran to the kitchen, snatched a granola bar until I got stopped by makeup obsessed perfectionist Kara! She was 3 years older than me which makes her 15 but even so that doesn’t mean she could get rude to me like she squishing a disgusting bug. Then slowly and greedily, she teared of the rapper, taking one long and greedy bite, swiping her pale hands over her lipstick covered mouth. She violently pushed me against the wall, forcing her elbow against my neck as I tried to gasp for air. Mum barged in, pulling us apart as she dragged Kara to the next room. I could faintly hear their voices, them shouting at each other with anger then a sudden silence and all went out.

Dear diary,
I found myself lying on my turquoise bed, a hot soaking cloth on my head. Mum was sitting next to me; she had falling asleep, my green emerald eyes staring at her feeling bewildered. All these questions popping through my head. It was daylight; I looked up staring at my window until I finally had the strength to go downstairs. I almost entered the kitchen until I realised Nana was there. She was with her 2 pets talking to mother as she handed the cup to her. “So how’s Ashley?!” Asked nana with a perplexed face. Suddenly, mum burst into tears, her icy blue eyes pouring out crystal tears as she sniffed slowly. She lifted her hands, cupping her head in her cold hands. “Tell my dear, what’s wrong?!”
“Well, as you know, I and rick haven’t been the greatest parents we could have been!” Mum said as she wept.
“Well, the worst actually!” “Yesterday when I went to pick Ashley up from rick’s house, something unexpected happened! I found Ashley’s step sister Andrea. She had her elbow forced against ash’s neck so she stopped breathing! She is a stupid girl!” Mum shrieked, weeping more than ever.
“It’s not rick’s faulty, Stella! The poor boy wasn’t even home! It’s alright sweetheart!” Nana said smiling but still upset.
“But mum, I can’t tell the police because they hospital will get involved and so will social services! I’m not letting them take my baby away from me!” Mum swung her arms around Nana, Holding her tightly like she’d never let her go!
“Everything will be alright Stella! I’m sure of it!” Nana replied petting and stroking mum’s hair.

Dear diary,
I had a bad feeling in my stomach, I wasn’t sure if it was a good or a bad feeling! Until I got a message or was it a call on my phone! Something bad had happened to Andrea but we didn’t know what! For once I was strong enough to jump out of bed, bath, get dressed and head on the way to Redbridge hospital north of where we were living. As much as mum hated Andrea, she still showed some affection which might have been too much because she was almost 75 miles an hour.
We had soon reached there and the thought of hearing what had happened struck me! Andrea was dead!!!
