Unnatural Appetite
Born 1995, M, from Kentucky, United StatesUnnatural Appetite
By Joseph Logsdon
Alfred Huston wanted to find the perfect girlfriend. Despite his handsomeness, Alfred had remained single all his life, and because of that, he was a very sad man. He wanted, more than anything else, to find an understanding woman. In Alfred’s troubled mind, women hated his body, heart, and soul. After many years of searching for happiness, Alfred finally found his dream girlfriend, at least, he thought he had found her.
Janet Granger was a very kind woman. She was, without a doubt, the most beautiful woman that Alfred had ever seen. He wanted to make love to her, but sadly, she refused to touch him. During a calm and romantic dinner, Alfred discussed his future with Janet.
“I hope you like your food,” Alfred stated as he sipped his coffee.
“It’s fine, I guess,” Janet huffed.
“Is something wrong?”
“How is your food?”
“Don’t change the subject,” Alfred replied.
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Talk? Talk about what?”
“Really, it’s not that important.”
“Janet, if we’re going to get married, you have to be honest with me,” he stated.
“Trust me, you won’t understand,” she whimpered.
“Honey, whatever it is, you can tell me,” Alfred assured.
“My parents want to meet you.”
“Yeah, so?”
“You don’t understand,” she stated.
“What’s wrong?”
“I haven’t seen them in years.”
“Why?”
“They kicked me out of the house,” she whimpered.
“Why?”
“Because I had sex outside of marriage,” she cried.
“They seem very unfair,” he stated.
“Now that I’m getting married, they want to see you,” she stated.
“Do you want me to see them?”
“Perhaps, If I show you to them, they will approve,” she whispered.
“Does their opinion mean that much to you?”
“It’s not that I care about what they think, it’s just that I want them to love me again. If your parents rejected you, wouldn’t you want to reconcile with them?”
“I wouldn’t know anything about that,” Alfred replied.
“What do you mean?”
“My parents are dead,” he answered.
“I’m sorry.”
“My mother died giving birth to me. My father, drunk and misguided, killed himself a few years later. If I do reconcile with them, it will be in the next life.”
“I didn’t know,” she whimpered.
“Now that you know, can we talk about something pleasant?”
“You don’t have to ask twice,” she stated.
The following night, Janet smiled as her father shook Alfred’s delicate hand.
“It’s nice to finally meet you,” Alfred stated as he entered the house.
“Welcome to our home,” he replied.
“Mr. Granger, you have a very beautiful daughter.”
“Call me Frank,” he replied.
“You have a very beautiful daughter, Frank,” Alfred repeated.
“Was it a long drive?” Frank asked.
“Not at all,” Alfred replied.
“Traveling is very expensive and difficult, especially on a snowy day like this,” Frank laughed.
“If you don’t mind me asking, where’s Mrs. Granger?”
“Olivia went shopping,” Frank answered.
“Why?”
“She forgot something,” he answered.
“She’ll be back soon, won’t she?” Janet asked.
“Don’t worry, if I know Olivia, she’ll be back any second,” Frank laughed.
“Say, is anyone hungry?” Janet asked.
“Famished,” Alfred answered.
“Olivia wanted us to wait,” Frank stated.
“Come on, she won’t mind,” Janet exclaimed.
“If we’re careful, I think we might get a free pass,” Frank laughed.
“Frank, are we seriously going to eat without her?” Alfred asked.
“Just this once,” Frank laughed.
Like hungry animals, Alfred, Janet, and Frank entered the kitchen. Having no regard for his absent wife, Frank set the table. After several suspenseful minutes, they were ready to eat.
“This is fantastic,” Alfred stated as he chewed his food.
“Olivia is a great cook, isn’t she?”
“Tell me, is she always this late?” Alfred asked.
“I thought she would be back by now,” Frank stated.
“Well, I wouldn’t worry too much,” Janet stated.
“That’s my girl, always optimistic,” Frank laughed.
“Daddy, do you have to be so lively?”
“You know, I honestly never thought you’d find the right man,” Frank stated.
“What do you mean?” Janet asked.
“He’s so firm,” Frank laughed.
“Daddy, you’re embarrassing me.”
“Tell me, what do you see in my girl?”
“She’s very nice,” Alfred answered.
“She’s also very sexy,” Frank laughed.
“Daddy,” Janet exclaimed.
“It’s too bad,” Frank stated.
“What are you talking about?” Alfred asked.
“You should be much fatter,” Frank exclaimed.
“Sir?”
“Janet, why do you always pick skinny men? They might be nice to look at, but they can’t satisfy your appetite.”
“Don’t worry, he’ll be very tasty,” Janet laughed.
“Janet, what are you talking about?”
“Eat your food,” she replied.
“Don’t worry, with any luck, you won’t feel a thing,” Frank laughed.
“Sir, what are you saying?”
“I must say, Alfred, you’re the nicest man we’ve ever had the pleasure of eating,” Frank laughed.
In that moment, Alfred started to panic as a dead finger appeared in his coffee.
“Olivia was very beautiful,” Frank laughed.
“Yes, too bad we had to silence her,” Janet laughed.
“What’s going on?”
“You’re our dinner, that’s what’s going on,” Frank laughed.
“Janet, what’s happening?”
“Don’t panic, it will all be over soon,” Janet laughed as she kissed Alfred.
“You see, Alfred, Janet and I have been eating people for many years. Every month, we select a victim, but we always have to be careful. In your case, you’re single, have no family, and most importantly, no one will come looking for you.”
“This has to be a dream,” Alfred exclaimed.
“Our relationship might be a dream, but this is very real,” Janet laughed.
Suddenly and without warning, Alfred started to feel weak and uneasy.
“Is it working already?” Frank laughed.
“You drugged me, didn’t you?”
“As you can see, we’re no match for your strength,” Janet laughed.
“Don’t worry, it won’t be long,” Frank stated.
“Janet, I thought you cared about me,” he sighed.
“Don’t talk, it will all be over soon,” she whispered.
“He’s going to be delicious,” Frank sighed.
“No matter what, I get to taste him first,” Janet demanded.
