To be blunt, I am dying from cancer. I also fell and injured by back 2 plus weeks ago and have been in the hospital ever since, till now. Just got access to my computer/Storystar a couple hours ago and am in the process of transferring operations to Denise so she may continue it in my absense....

Comments issue fixed....

Please note that the comments form had a glitch which was preventing a comment from appearing as though it was successfully posted, even when it had been. When you clicked POST nothing happened, so you kept clicking on it. Then you discovered that every time you clicked your comment was posted again. The problem has now been resolved. Storystar is currently not functioning properly.... a continuing result of the 'upgrade' which corrupted the files on 7-23. We're still trying to figure out how to get things back to the way they were before it happened. Please just refrain from adding new stories or comments until we get this figured out, because chances are they will 'disappear' again as we continue working on it. Thank you for your patience.

Lost stories and comments....

The entire day of July 23 stories and comments has been lost when the site needed to be restored to a backup taken early in the morning. An over eager tech was trying to be helpful by upgrading the site to a new version of PHP, which created a number of fatal flaws to the existing code, causing glitches and dysfunction. After several hours of trying to reverse the damage and still finding glitches the decision was made to restore to the latest backup. In the process all the stories that were added after the backup done at 2am on 7-23 were lost. For those who posted stories and comments that have now been erased, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again. Thank you.

FYI: Late last week Storystar was attacked by someone who uploaded 500 'stories' within an hour and 1/2 time period. After he and his stories were deleted there were some functionality issues that required Storystar to be restored to a previous backup and several days of legitimate stories and comments were lost in the process. Because we don't ever want the same thing to happen again, as part of preventing the problem we have added a one story per day per user restriction. So if you try to upload more than one story per day you'll get a block. Please come back the next day and add your new story then. Thank you.

When you comment or post a story, and click the button to submit it, it will seem like nothing is happening. But it is actually posting your comment and/or story, even though it doesn't show you that it is working.
