The is the second and possible last of the Stranger stories I will rewrite. In the story Man has come to the meadow and this forces the herd to break up. There is hardship and tragedy for all.
This is a rewrite of the original where I tried to fill in some of the blanks in the plot and to smooth out the writing. The story is a strange deer has entered Bambi's forest. What does he want? How does he know what he knows?
This story is an omage to Ursula K. Le Guin's short story about the City of Omelas. I undated it a bit from a single city to an interstellar society. Hope you like it.
