Taco loved him dearly.
She watched and waited as he put his books and papers away. After zipping it up, Rice lazily slung his backpack over his shoulder, completely oblivious to her thoughts. Completely oblivious to the lovely thoughts that danced in her mind. Taco dreamed of walking beside him, anywhere, everywhere. To walk as more than friends, with one arm wrapped around her, and her head peacefully resting on his shoulder. Maybe down a quiet, little park on a sort-of cloudy day. Not so cloudy so that it might rain, but not so bright that it might ruin the moment. Perhaps a little windy, just a cool breeze that would barely chill her. But it would be enough to borrow Rice’s sweater and wrap it around herself, not bothering to wear the sleeves. She’d just let them hang there. Yes, that is what she wanted. She longed to be alone with him, and to have him feel the same way with her just as she did with him. To be alone, with no one else in the world to bother them. How she ached for Rice. They walked to the door.
“You ready to go?”
“Yes.”
And so they left…

She was beautiful.
No, not beautiful. Beautiful does not begin to describe the way she looked. It could not describe the way she walked, the way she talked, or the way she made him feel. Taco was indescribable. There was an air of elegance and pride around her, sometimes. Other times, she was filled with love and adoration for little things, things that others would not appreciate as much. Rice has seen her lose herself in lonely parks, balloons that float away, round spoons, the list goes on. She was definitely smart, and she was accomplished. Taco was hunted after, but not a single time had she gotten caught, and neither had he. It would be his first time, it would be her first time, and it could - No, It should be their first time, together. But it can’t. It just cannot and will not be. He could not go through the pain, but more importantly, he could not put her through it. Chances are, it will be far worse for her than him because they won’t accept her. No matter how much she may try or seem, she is not one of them. She will never be one of them. Still, it also hurt to keep going like this. This probably isn’t love, but it’s the closest he has gotten. He wished he could tell her. They walked to the door.
