Three of us. We were the only ones left, the only ones to make it to the island.
A couple hours before. . .
I looked at the unpleasant breakfast on my plate and took a tiny portion of it. Instantly, I spit it out with regrets. I knew this was the best food they could serve, considering how cheap the tickets were for the long boat ride to England, so I pinched my nose and ate the mushy looking food. I tried to believe that I was fortunate for the low priced journey to a faraway land, so I got up from my seat and proceeded to room number 21 where Jasper and Fiona were staying. If you are questioning who Jasper and Fiona are, they were my best friends since elementary school, and our goal was to travel the world. However, by now I was very sure that we all regretted this decision. I entered the room with a joyous expression, happy to have friends traveling with me on the way. I took one more big step closer when the boat started to tilt side to side. All three of us tumbled and tripped over each other. After getting some balance, we soon heard the captain announce that there would be a storm coming soon, so the workers pushed us into little rooms. Shortly after the yelling and pushing from workers, we felt a forceful push in the boat, but the only part different about the force was that it was 1000 times stronger, which knocked our little cheap boat onto its side.
I woke up, finding myself laying on a sunny beach surrounded by dark sea blue water and hot sand. I looked to my left to see that Jasper and Fiona were knocked out on the shore with seaweed swiveling around them. I forced myself to crawl to them with all the energy I had left. Both of them only had minor injuries like cuts, bruises and etc, so I fixed them up with leaves and bark surrounding me.
Moments later …
I heard the sound of yawning, so I hurried to the temporary camp that I made and found Jasper and Fiona talking to each other. I rushed over to them and gave them a big hug (that almost broke their ribs). I was overjoyed to see my friends alive and happy. A minute ago I was crying over my “dead” friends while making a “help me” signal, but now I was crying out of happiness. Jasper and Fiona were still quite shocked about being stuck on an island, so I tried to cheer them up by giving them a “wonderful” tour of the “beautiful” island. The truth was that I had already been on this island for a week now, learning to survive with barely anything. Thanks to the survival 101 class I took a couple months ago with Jasper and Fiona, surviving on this island would be way more convenient. "Okay now," I said with a loud voice. "To survive on this island, efficiently, we must stick together and have different jobs." Jasper and Fiona nodded an agreement. Since I usually took the lead, I was assigned with the job as “leader.” Fiona, who was born with a green thumb, got assigned to getting fresh water, picking fruits, and planting crops. While Jasper, with his big strong hands, was allocated to building houses and hunting game. Jasper started to make a home out of the foliage, sticks, and clay. While Fiona and I picked fruits and made “help” signs. We finished building the houses, planting crops, and building help signs a week later. In the meantime, I was finding the island quite enjoyable and peaceful. I told Jasper and Fiona my idea about staying here a little longer. Jasper's jaw dropped. While Fiona figured it would be better to let out her anger. “WHAT, you want to stay here?” “You do realize that you're destined to die right?” “You're CRAZY!”
I was troubled by the decision of staying or leaving this island. I knew that if I left, I would never see my friends again and if I stayed I would be happy and not have to go on that dirty boat. All night I was pondering over my decision. When the sun finally came up I finalized my decision. I told Fiona and Jasper that I would be staying on the island.
