Wretched Tribulation
Born 1947, M, from Norman, OK, United StatesHe awoke to abject darkness. He felt, but could not see. He was surrounded by a substance, which touched him on every portion and part of his body. He was warm, but had no memory. He could, however, breathe and was somewhat comfortable in his surroundings. He could move, but with great difficulty, and with little speed. He knew of no one other than himself. He had no form, but yet existed. As he lived in this state, he felt however, that he was not alone, and others were near. He attempted to call out, but had no voice. He attempted to hear, but had no ears. He then felt as if he were rising upward without his own effort. He had the sensation of being lifted within his surroundings. He felt for the first time heat upon his body. He was blinded. Light surrounded him, piercing his mind and senses. He felt fear and was uneasy. He was dizzy with height and confusion. He felt cold, hard pain. "My God, my bodies being pierced," he thought. He hung helplessly in great agony and impalement. He was without the ability to move about freely. He was trapped in this foreign place, alone and without hope.
Finally, he felt the sensation of being lowered, into a vast, formless unfamiliar churning, dark world. He was cold. He could no longer breathe. He searched vainly for air to survive. This was a place without life. Then, he was pulled free of his steal captive, but he felt no freedom. "My God, I am being eaten," he shrieked in his thoughts, and he died. His birth and death had been in one instant of time. He was never missed, nor mourned, never counted, or named. As this was the life of an earthworm.
