Mmmmmmmm, Coffee!

Well, cleaning my house is always a big job. So it takes lots of energy. It takes so much energy to keep my house going that my power bill is pale in comparison. And for all of you who know how high my power bill is you understand. So what is my remedy? Coffee, vitamins, and veggies. These three keep me going...but it's mostly coffee. Since Thad is at the present time MIA for 131 hours out of a meager 168 hour week (do the math), he doesn't get to do much around here, so that leaves me. I am NOT complaining. I don't mind at all. It is tough sometimes and unrewarding but I am easy to please and a simple,"Mommy you're the greatest" comment will do. It is those comments which keep me motivated and give me the perseverance I need to march through another day.
Today however started out like any other. Worrying about bills, laundry, scrubbing kitchen floor, and of course running after Aaron to get ready for school. I had my first cup of coffee and had just mixed my second to perfection. I set it down reluctantly after but a few sips. I went to change out the laundry. When I came back to my coffee I continued to sip happily, frowning at the Mt Everest of clothes which beckoned relentlessly at me from the other end of the couch. I set down the cup with a few sips to go when I notice a dark spot in my coffee. I got up immediately realizing my mistake in leaving my poor defenseless coffee all by it's lonesome with a three year old on the loose. I rushed to the sink and slowly poured the coffee out, terrified of what would come out with it and what I had drank. I wonder if I have to call the paramedics. I could imagine myself now telling them how Lara had poisoned me.
"Do you have any enemy's Mrs. Olmstead"-Police
"No, just my three year old, I made her clean her room last night." -I say desperately.
"I see"-Police- scribble, scribble, scribble.
To my horror two batteries came plunking out into my sink. I grasped at my throat expecting it to tighten at any second. I recognized them instantly from the TV remote. The back of it had gone missing making them easily accessible to just such a conniving child. She ran in from the other room while I was still in my overly dramatic state. She had a new make up kit I had recently bought for her. She had smeared lipstick adorned sideways across her face, smiled and said, "Wanna play with me Mommy?"

Afterwords I had Thad duck tape the batteries into the remote.
