Jonathan James (Bicycle Race)
Born 1972, M, from Coos Bay, OR, United StatesThe adventures of Jonathan James,
The boy with two first names,
Is ten years old of average size,
With curly brown hair and big blue eyes.
Having big dreams and a wild imagination,
That takes him around the world and across the nation.
Today he’s traveling to a far away place,
To enter in the largest bicycle race.
Jonathan James would fulfill his biggest dream,
Or so it may seem.
He sat on his bike waiting for the start,
He felt the excitement in his beating heart.
Then all of a sudden he heard a loud gunshot,
And all of the riders sped off.
Winding through the streets of Paris, France
Believing to have a winning chance.
Huffing and puffing up the steep incline,
Running out of steam, he was falling behind.
The rest of the riders were way ahead,
“I know I can do this,” Jonathan James said.
He finally reached the tippy- top.
Than faster and faster downhill, he couldn’t stop.
Up ahead he saw the other riders,
And the bicycle path was becoming wider.
Jonathan James saw his big chance,
He could win the “Tour-de- France.
Pulling ahead of the pack in record time,
A few yards away was the finish line.
Just than he heard a really loud “Pop,”
The front tire blew out and he had to stop.
The riders flew past him and he heard the crowd cheer,
“Oh well!” he said, “There’s always next year.”
