Haunted for a reason: The Return
Born 1988, M, from Thomaston/Ga, United StatesSarah and Kayla had been friends since they were children, and no adventure was too spooky for them. So when Sarah heard about an old abandoned house near the lake with a haunted past, she and Kayla felt compelled to investigate.
The girls decided that the best way to approach the situation was with caution. So they devised a plan and enlisted the help of their friends, a group of equally brave and curious youngsters.
Ready and excited, the group gathered near the old house a few days later. As they ventured closer, they noticed a strange chill in the air. Still, the group pressed on.
The moment the gang stepped inside the house, they knew something was wrong. Cobwebs hung from dusty corners, rusted tools lay scattered about the kitchen, and dread ascended in the kids’ stomachs.
The group was just about to turn and run when they noticed a bright light glimmering in the corner of the room. As the kids watched, a ghostly figure floated out of the corner and began to drift around the room.
At first, the kids were scared out of their wits. But as the ghost continued to move around the house, they realized that the ghost was sad.
The ghost told them it had been trapped in the house for centuries, ever since it made the mistake of betraying its old master. The ghost begged the kids to help it leave and find peace.
The kids agreed and quickly formulated a plan. In a matter of minutes, they’d made a makeshift contraption, powered by an old gramophone and a few other battery-powered materials, and laid it out in front of the ghost. After a few more minutes, the machine was on and working.
Finally, the ghost floated away, free from the house. After the group said their goodbyes, they watched as it faded into the night. The group hugged each other tight and cheered for a job well done.
As the kids headed back home, they wondered if the spirit had now found its rest. Deep down they knew that all they had done was make a difference for one lost soul. With that, they headed back, content and grateful for their brave adventure.
