Bloodbound Desires
Born 2009, M, from Kerala, IndiaThe sweltering embrace of a relentless summer night gripped the countryside, ensnaring it in a cloak of oppressive heat. Alain found solace on his verandah, the cold sweat from his glass of iced tea glistening like a lifeline against the ominous moonlight that cast grotesque, writhing shadows across the porch.
Then, as though the heavens themselves shattered, a thunderous cacophony rent the serene night. Alain's heart raced, his iced tea cascading like ruby blood across the wooden planks, as he catapulted from his chair. Panic propelled him into the dimly lit hallway, his footsteps echoing like macabre drumbeats.
In the heart of the darkness that enveloped his home, a ghastly figure loomed. It was the Summar Ghost, an entity of malevolent legend, notorious for granting desires at the cost of a cherished soul.
Alain's voice wavered in terror, "What are you?"
The Summar Ghost's voice slithered like a spectral whisper, "I am the embodiment of yearnings, the keeper of wishes. I grant but one desire, but in return, I demand the soul of your dearest."
Alain trembled, his thoughts racing, torn between his wife's agonizing suffering and the terrifying bargain before him.
"I wish for my wife to be freed from her torment," Alain whispered, his voice scarcely audible.
A chill gripped the room, shadows deepening. The Summar Ghost nodded, accepting the wish. "As you wish, but remember the price."
Days passed, and Alain's life seemingly reclaimed its familiar rhythm. Anna's health miraculously improved, and their days were punctuated by fleeting moments of joy. Yet, beneath their smiles, a palpable void festered, gnawing at Alain's soul.
One night, he awoke to a piercing shriek. His heart thundered as he bolted upright and sprinted to Anna's side. What he beheld would forever haunt his nightmares.
Anna, her eyes vacant of life, stood at the foot of their bed, a sinister grin twisting her pallid lips. Her hands were drenched in crimson, painting grotesque patterns on the walls with blood-soaked fingers.
Tears streamed down Alain's face as he realized the ghastly truth. The Summar Ghost had not merely stolen Anna's pain, but her very humanity. She had transformed into a vessel of darkness, a soulless specter.
In a desperate, blood-soaked struggle, Alain fought for his life against the vengeful wraith that had once been his beloved wife. The room echoed with their anguished cries, a grotesque ballet of death and despair.
With dawn's arrival, the house lay silent, except for the eerie chorus of cicadas outside. Alain sat alone, his hands stained with the blood of the woman he had adored. The Summar Ghost had granted his wish, but the price had been extracted in the most grotesque, horrifying manner.
The morning sun seemed to mock him, casting a cruel light on the abominable darkness that now consumed his life.
Alain's once-charming home had metamorphosed into a hellish chamber of horrors, a place where the memories of his beloved Anna were irrevocably tainted by the nightmarish transformation she had undergone. The Summar Ghost's curse had ravaged everything he held dear.
As days melded into weeks, Alain, imprisoned by guilt and grief, rarely ventured beyond the confines of his now-decrepit home. The once-thriving garden had withered into a sepulcher of despair, mirroring the decay that had seized him. He had become a hollow vessel, haunted not only by the crimson stains on his walls but by the torment that devoured his soul.
Yet, the Summar Ghost was not content with merely inflicting this torment. One evening, as darkness descended upon the countryside, an insidious whisper crept through the abandoned halls, repeating Alain's name with increasing urgency.
Alain followed the eerie voice, quivering as he reached the accursed room where he had last glimpsed Anna's wretched form. The walls seemed to ooze malevolence, the temperature plummeting to a frigid abyss. In the heart of this nightmare, the Summar Ghost materialized, its visage more horrifying than ever.
"I have returned to claim what is rightfully mine," it hissed, its voice a venomous blade.
With a grotesque flourish, the Summar Ghost extended its spectral hand, and from within its shadowy form, an arsenal of cruel instruments materialized. Blades gleamed, and a symphony of torment echoed through the room as the ghost descended upon Alain, carving a brutal requiem of crimson upon his flesh.
The verandah, once a haven of respite, bore witness to a crimson tide that flowed from Alain's anguished body, mingling with the moonlight's sinister shadows. In the end, his agony became a gruesome masterpiece, etched into the very fabric of his tormentor's malevolent existence.
As the night wore on, the macabre symphony played on, the Summar Ghost's thirst for suffering insatiable, and Alain's screams merging with the relentless, deafening cicadas, creating an unending cacophony of horror that echoed throughout eternity.
