Our Time: The Children Disowned Their Father

My Dear World,

I decided not to send you a letter till I felt that my country was worth sending a letter about. I’m so blissful because I am feeling the freedom rays in all my life and I am feeling that our rights are coming to their right place once again.

Dear world, did you see how many days we spent asking for our rights and freedom? Did you see how many martyrs we lost in our revolution? Did you see how the “people”, who had to save our country, become a symbol of a humiliation? Did you see how “our father”, as they called him, disowned his children, once he took the responsibility, and just pretended to be the “ideal”? I think you see now my world. I think you realize now how we are strong.

All the time before, the others were always taking us for granted and discouraged us all the time, and always rejected our thoughts and dreams. Always! But now we say to them “in your face“. Now we rebuild what they destroyed, we collect what they shattered, we achieve what they dreamed about, saying to us “you’re asking for the moon“. Now and till forever, the “children”, as they called us, disowned their father, and will disown severely any “father” who tries to control or enslave them, the children.
Now and immediately, the world has to admit that we have been wronged, and the hope is us, the dreams are us, and the future is us.

My world, I am not admonishing you. I just feel that I’m finally free from any restrictions, finally free from any pressures, finally free from any controllers.

I just need to say to you, world, one final thing. Just keep in mind, we are the ones who freed the country, we are the ones who changed the reality to the best ever, and we are the ones who showed the devotion and loyalty to Egypt while they showed disloyalty and infidelity. And we will never let some crafty (we are the craftiest), thugs ruin what we built, and finish what we started. That is never going to happen. We will overcome anything that hampers our way to the future.

Sincerely, the youth
