The Princess Who Hated Bugs
Born 1967, F, from Tacoma WA, United StatesOnce there was a beautiful princess who could not stand bugs. She hated bees, and she hated ants, and she even hated spiders. Anything with gangly little legs just drove her crazy!
One day the princess grew bored of sitting indoors. She decided to take a stroll by the pond. As she walked a fly buzzed up to her.
“Oh, fair princess, I am a great king from a far off land. If you will but rescue me from this spell cast on me by a wicked witch, I shall make you my queen.”
The princess stared at him distastefully for a few moments. Then, from out of nowhere, a frog appeared. He stuck out his long, sticky tongue and ate the fly right up.
“Princess,” he said, “I am a handsome prince and…well, er, apparently the king of a distant land…and if you kiss me we can rule both of my kingdoms together.”
“Wow! I like your style,” she told the frog. She gave him a great big kiss.
Then the frog turned back into a handsome monarch.
Arm in arm, they set off to travel to… well, to their new kingdom, wherever it was.
