"Huh, I was thinking Rory would give you more than just a laser pointer," said James. "You know, he's quite rich." He walks to his bed and sits down. "I know. He could of given me a robot dinosaur, or an EpicSoothe bed, or-" Max stopped in the middle of his sentence. "What's this say?" He slowly turned the laser pointer so he could read the writing. "DON'T POINT AT EYES. OR HEART. OR HEAD. OR ANYTHING THAT'S ALIVE." he exclaimed. "What could that mean?" He pointed it at James. "No!" exclaimed James. "In case it's dangerous, we should try it outside on a plant."

Outside James' house, there were thousands of lovely flowers. Max carefully pointed the laser pointer at a sunflower which they called 'Ye Olde Flower'. He was about to press the button when the postman handed him a letter. "Sorry about your brother," the postman said. "It's OK. I live with my friend now. In fact, I'm at his house right now. How did you know I was here?" asked Max. "Oh, just thought you'd be here," he replied, his eyes glinting red instead of the usual green-grey. He walked out of the garden. Max opened the envelope. The letter read:

Dear Max,
Whatever you do, DO NOT use the laser pointer. Keep it locked up for 4 years. Then I'll write you a letter saying why. You'll be able to use it by then.
Your's sincerely,
Guider

"Who's that?" asked James. "Dunno. I think we should lock it up" said Max. So it was. For 4 years.
