Morning Was Slowly Coming
Born 1949, M, from NLR /Arkansas, United StatesGeraldine was away from home for the first time in her life! She was staying in a motel. But she was afraid of motels! She was afraid of what could happen! She didn't trust the door! She Didn't trust the window! They just didn't seem all that secure. At least, not in her point of view. She was in a room with a single bed, TV, a desk by the bed and a phone that comes with the room. She was hoping it worked-in case of emergency! Who had keys? The motel manager, the service people and herself. That's all. She hoped that was all! She was afraid to turn off the light. She had checked in that morning; but when night came; it came so fast! Every little sound made her heart jump! Voices she heard outside her room, voices that seemed to be plotting. Plotting something ugly! Her curtains were closed; still she seemed to feel a presence! Something that would do her harm! But maybe, she thought, "that something" was the fear that she had in her heart! She couldn't go to sleep; she sat up in her bed instead of lying down. She was afraid to fall asleep; her eyes on the door! Her eyes on the window! And her ears fully alert! She looked at the clock. Morning was slowly coming! Morning was slowly coming!
