Two doctors were engaged in serious conversation! One doctor wore glasses; the other doctor did not. The doctor who wore glasses said, "It's hard to tell a patient that they have a deadly disease. It's hard to inform them that they might die from it! It's hard to inform them that they will have to undergo some painful and unpleasant treatments that might prolong their lives!"

The other doctor said, "Yes, Yes! It is."

The doctor who wore glasses said, "I had a patient just the other day who was in the advanced stages of his disease and it seemed that treatment would not prolong his life!"

And the other doctor said, "Being a bearer of bad news is sometimes our job; but not all the time!"

The doctor who wore glasses said, "We're only doctors; life and death is up to God!"

The other doctor said, "But it's a real good thing that after treatment, whether painful or difficult, the patient walks out of the hospital recovered! It's one of the proudest moments in the life of a doctor! It renews his faith in himself and the strong will and determination of the human spirit and it's willingness to survive in the mist of circumstances trying to defeat it! The doctor who wore glasses then said, "Yes, it's hard to inform a patient anything about his or her health situation, anything that he or she might not be too happy to hear! Especially if the patient being informed is you! the doctor!"
