THE HEART BOND

Once upon a time there lived a 14 year old boy, named Shahzade, who studied in a co-educated school. When he was in class ninth, he thought of making a girlfriend. He searched many, but he found none. Once, his exams were going on. According to the seating plan, class seventh was scheduled to sit in his class. During these days, he saw a girl who gave him a smile every day. In return, the boy also gave her a smile. Exams were over but this smiling faces continued.

The boy fell in love with the girl and thought that the girl was also expecting him as her lover. The boy was losing his patience but was afraid to ask. He enquired of many people and finally got to know her name, that is Stuti, and that she lived in the hostel. Finally, one day, he got some courage and spotted Stuti just after the interval. Shahzade asked Stuti, “Till when will we be smiling like this?” Stuti responded very rudely and replied, “So?”. Shahzade was very much demoralized. He said nothing and went away. Same happened with Stuti. She also went away.

After one year, both of them were promoted to next grade. Days kept on passing when on 3rd September, 2010; they saw each other at a shopping complex. There also they smiled the same way. Shahzade was very much in love with Stuti. He kept on going in front of Stuti’s class every day in the interval. He tried everything to have a glance of her. He even tried new ideas of going to her class. Then Stuti’s friends got to know that Shahzade loved her.

One day, the school was celebrating slap day. Shahzade, as usual, went to see Stuti in the interval. God knows from where, but he dared to lightly slap the girl and say, “HAPPY SLAP DAY.” Stuti was totally shocked at this behavior but was quite happy. By chance, it was PTA on the same day. In the afternoon, Shahzade went to meet Stuti but couldn’t find her. Shahzade asked about her from her friends. Her friends told him that since she was a hosteller, she’d gone to the hostel. Shahzade told her friends to tell Stuti that he wanted to meet her for once. Then, he thanked the friends and went away.

Next morning, Shahzade was quite happy. He was sure that Stuti would meet him. With this hope he went to the school. When Shahzade’s class was about to leave for the assembly, Stuti reached there. She, without even seeing the environment, angrily said to the Shahzade, “I don’t like you.” Shahzade was totally shocked. He thought for a while but couldn’t get what to say. Instead of saying okay, he also rudely replied, “So … So….” With this, a building love story fell down. Shahzade was very disappointed. His whole day got ruined. But, he had courage enough to bear this pain. He knew that Stuti loved him, but she couldn’t show it so she must have some strong reason.

Another year passed away. They both were again promoted to the next class. Shahzade was almost to forget Stuti. On 29th September, Stuti’s roommate, also a good friend of hers and who was also a good friend of Shahzade, tried to call Shahzade with reference to a teacher. But, Shahzade refused as he had to go somewhere urgently. When Shahzade finally agreed, Stuti’s friend gave him a letter and told him that Stuti had sent it. Shahzade felt quite good but didn’t read the letter right away. On his way to home, he stopped and read the letter. He quickly went back to the school. Then he met Stuti and for the first time they had a little talk.

There was a relationship which built between them. But it was only through letters. Shahzade tried to be patient but was unable to. Finally, on 16 November, they met again. There Shahzade asked if she loved him. Then, in a low tone, Stuti replied in positive and said yes. After that, Shahzade started flying. He was very happy.

Where there is love, there are quarrels too. They had some misunderstandings between them and Stuti seemed to break up with him. Shahzade, when he came to know about this, gave his justifications. Then the next day, Stuti’s friend ringed Shahzade. He responded to Stuti's friend and finally they were able to converse in the afternoon. Shahzade was very sad while talking. He came to know from her friend that Stuti was also not happy at all. There were many misunderstandings between them and Stuti never asked him for a breakup. She also added that Stuti wanted to meet him in the school.

Next day, Shahzade went to school. They finally had a formal meeting in the interval. They solved every misunderstanding between them. And finally, on 28th November, just one day before the 2 months between them, they finally made up with each other. Shahzade was very happy. Stuti was too very happy. The next day, on their 2 month relationship, Shahzade recited a written poem to Stuti:

From a day to a week, time passed away,
From a week to a month, to two months today...
Two months of being happy when we're together, even when we are apart,
The distance that stands between us, only strengthens the feelings in my heart...
Two months of smiles, I don't want to end them,
Today, tomorrow, or ever...
Two months in which, I've spent few time with you,
So now I ask, for two months more,
And after that, even four...
From two months to six months, from six months to years,
Till I am there, you need not fear...
I pray that the end of our relationship is not anywhere near...

Stuti liked the poem very very much and finally she told Shahzade that she liked him and loved him. But she never said this facing him. God knows why? Then, on 5 December, Shahzade decided to propose to the girl and give her a ring, which was like a hidden trial method as he didn’t know anything about the size of Stuti’s finger. In the interval, when they met, the boy tried to ask the girl for her hand, but Stuti refused. Left with no other option, Shahzade gave her the ring. The next day, Stuti wore it and came to school. She hesitatingly tried to show the ring to the boy. The ring was fit on the finger. Their meetings kept on going, but Stuti didn’t say those three magical words to Shahzade even for once. I hope she’ll give him the chance soon. They are leading a happy life and hope they lead a happy life together. God bless them both.
