The light was dim but it reflected off the white tiles, flooding the room with a misty light that gave the place and eerie feel. What I was doing in a public bathroom at this time of night escaped my cautious thoughts.
"Oh, come on, what could happen?" a silly question to ask myself but I still whispered it under my breath.
As I clopped my way to the merky, misty mirrors, my brain rattled with each echoing footstep. My reflection in the mirror was distorted slightly due to the chunk of glass missing in the top right hand corner. Bright blue eyes shone back at me with vibrant life, surrounded by thick long lashes. My dark curls snaked around my face like a curtain of untamable saturn. High cheek bones and boisterous lips defined my face taking the girlish touch away from the unsuitable freckles that splashed like mines across my nose, contrasting against my fair skin. With the short blue dress, glossy heels and feature sharpening makeup, I looked more like I had come from a club than a second hand book store.
While my mind wondered I managed to notice the eyes glinting in the cheap unnatural light in the cubical directly behind me. I squeezed my eyes shut with a frightened gasp, hoping what I had seen was just my eyes playing horrible tricks on me. As my eyelids fluttered back open the eyes had disappeared, but a bad feeling still boiled in the pit of my stomach.
An arm wrapped like a vice around my waist, pinning my arms to my side.
Fingers dug into my jaw muffling my shocked, strangled scream.
I struggled but it was no use.
I flung my legs in a desperate flurry, sending a baby blue heel flying through the air, shattering the already damaged mirror, reflecting the scene from my undreamable nightmare a thousand times in its sharp silver shards.
Tears streamed down my face as my no longer invisible assailant pinned me to the cold skin biting floor. My screams turned to broken sobs as he smashed my skull against the side of the dirty toilet bowl. Sharp pain shot through my skull making my sobs louder and more peircing.
I knew his face was not one I would forget as his cold unfeeling lips spoke 3 little words. My vision blurred in and out, but I could make out his young nightmarish features. Hollow cheeks, sandy hair and two blood curtlingly evil green eyes, they glinted with soul shreading insanity, reflected the unspeakable thoughts running through his messed up mind.
As I stuttered into unconsiousness he repeated the words that would haunt me forever.
"Scream, bitch, scream."
