Struggle Of A Black Man
Born 1998, F, from MIAMI, Florida, United States.jpg)
Struggle Of A Black Man
My mother died May 4, 2011. My heart was crushed. I felt like a part of me was gone. I, my brothers and sisters, went to live with my father in Dalles. I tried to get over my mother’s death but I couldn’t. I dropped out of school. I started selling drugs and went down the wrong path. But my father took it harder, he started to drink and use drugs. Every night when my father didn’t come home I went out to look for him. Sometimes, he didn't come home for weeks. On November 12, 2011, my father had an overdose. We didn’t have any money, so ended up moving in with my grandmother. Eventually, my grandmother helped me get on the right track. I got a job and went back to school.
