"Do you think I should get this one?", I asked, holding a Blackberry phone.
"If you want babe", Rebecca replied, shrugging her shoulders.
I walked to the counter to pay for my new phone. I needed one because we're going away for the weekend and also because I don't have one yet. We walked out of the phone store and I opened it up, and turned it on. I put the simcard in and went to the closest gas station to buy $30 prepaid optus credit. I ordered the credit, so we headed off towards the lake house. I turned the car on and drove off down the road. A few hours passed and it was getting late. I looked at Rebecca to see that she is already asleep. I started to fall asleep as well and the car swerved off into the other lane. A loud horn woke me. I quickly looked up to see a truck heading our way. I turned the wheel as hard as I could possibly make it go. I looked to see if Becca has woken. she hadn't.
"We're here sweets", I whispered in her ear. She opened her eyes and yawned. I smiled and she smiled right back at me.
"Okay", she kissed me.
We both walked -holding hands- to our cabin. It was cabin 21. People said that 21 was a bad luck number... but I'm not superstitious. We entered and threw our stuff on the bed. I walked to Rebecca and hugged her from behind. She jumped in surprise. She turned her whole body so that she was leaning into me. I lifted her chin and placed a light kiss on her lips. She responded by pressing harder. I licked her bottom lip, asking for entrance. She let me. We played a war with our tongues inside each others mouths and fell back onto the bed. I started to pull her top off but my phone rang.
"Who is it hon?", she asked, sitting up on her shoulders.
"It says '555-769'...?", I replied, confused.
"But.. that's our home phone number", she said.
"I know, that's why I'm confused", I told her.
I answered the phone. I could hear deep breathing from the other end of the line.
"Hello?", I asked, scared. I started to shake and put it on speaker.
"Hello? Anybody there? Please answe-", The person on the other end hung up. I put my phone on the bedside table and continued kissing Rebecca.
In the morning I woke to sunlight in my eyes. I got worried that someone broke into our home, so I called Rebecca -who was in the shower- saying that we should probably go home later tonight. She agreed.
A few hours had passed and we were packing up our things. I drove home. Negative thoughts in mind. We pulled into our driveway and walked up the pavers to the front door. It was locked.
"They probably broke a window", Becca suggested. I walked around the whole entire house looking for anything that they could've used to get in. All windows were fine, the back door was locked. I began to freak. I ran to the phone to see if it'd been used, and on the wall above the phone was a yellow sticky note. On the note it said; 'IT WAS ME WHO RANG'. I started to violently shake and called the cops. But the phoneline had been cut.
"Stay here, I'll be back, I will use next doors' phone", I told Rebecca. I went to open the front door.
"You aren't going anywhere", a voice behind me said, I slowly looked to see a man in a white mask standing there, holding an axe, and behind him was Rebecca, lifeless on the floor in a pool of her own blood... THE END
