Blue Eyes
Born 1998, F, from Gibsons, CanadaThe first time Jason Andrews saw her, he was sitting in the middle of a dandylion-infested field, all alone, crying. Of course, he was only 10, but that doesn't matter. He was sad. He was sad about his mother dying and his father's abuse, he was sad about moving to this new, strange place, and he was sad because he was all alone. Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder, and when he turned, he saw a pair of bright, incredibly blue eyes. He eventually saw the rest of her face. A sprinkling of freckles across the bridge of her ski-slope nose, a face that was not too round, nor too pointy. She had crazy blond ringlets sprouting from her head.
"Why are you crying?" She had asked, her sweet little voice breaking the silence, and ending his sobs. He wiped his snotty nose with his hand, and stared up at her.
"What's it to you?" How'd that pop out? He drew back, apalled at his cruel reotort. But the girl laughed, and stuck out a hand.
"My name's Honey. Honey Grayson. And I wanna be your friend. He reached out a tentative hand, and shook it.
As the years went by, they became best friends. Her crazy blond ringlets straightened out and went brown by the time she was 14, only making her eyes seem even bluer. She grew tall and slender, and he watched from afar as she was surrounded by other kids, being asked out by boys, although she never agreed. He was scared when that happened. He didn't want his friend to be taken away.
When they were 16, she got a boyfriend, and this made Jason even more scared. But soon, he got his own girlfriend, and although it only lasted for a few months, he realized he could live without Honey.
When they were 18, they graduated, and went to separate colleges, growing apart. But 5 years later, he returned, missing his old town. He eventually bought a house, and by the time he was 24, he lived in his old town.
Jason went for a walk, straight to where he had first met Honey. He was upset. He had got an invitation for a wedding from his dad. His dad was getting remarried, and now Jason felt more alone than ever, knowing his father was moving on.
But when he arrived at the field, he saw that it wasn't there. There was a big concrete building in it's place. Jason sat down in shock, right on the ground, and began shedding silent tears. They stopped when he felt a hand on his shoulder, and when he turned, he looked into a pair of bright blue eyes.
