What lesson will I learn?(Denise Petry) People often mistake us angels as just randomly being around humans to help them when disaster strikes or to guide them to make the right decision in life.

That’s partially right, but the truth is we are born when every soul is born and our job is to stay with that soul through it’s many trips to earth and all the lives it will live.

In the spirit world we don’t use names or labels or descriptions. I know it sounds like it could be confusing, but trust me, it works. But for the sake of the story let’s call me Justin. Hi, I am Graysen’s angel.

I have been with Graysen through every life he has lived. He has lived many but not enough where he could say he has experienced everything.

His one life experience he longed for was to have a mother who could show him true love. He had mothers before but they were either too busy with their own life or didn’t want a child at all, or were just not the motherly type. Every spirit gets every experience there is, maybe not in one lifetime, but over many they will learn all lessons good or bad. I watch over Graysen and here is his story:


Graysen sat quietly at our father’s side waiting patiently for his next choosen path in life. Father told him that he would be “special needs” in this life. He would be limited in his verbal communication and would have to always rely on others to help him through his life. Graysen asked father, “but what could I possibly learn if I am special needs father?” Father smiled at him and said, “My child, this time you are the teacher.” Graysen smiled from ear to ear and father knew he was the right spirit for the job.

Graysen was eager to learn about his new path in life but he knew whatever he was told would soon be wiped away once he became an earth spirit.

Father started to tell him details. "My child, you will be born to a mother that has no limits of love or patience in her heart. Even though your words will be limited she will know how much you love her. She will care for you and you will always feel safe and loved. I choose her specially for you."

This was the gift our father had promised Graysen. A mother who has no limits or conditions for love. He would finally feel what all the other spirits sang about.

He asked more questions, “who will I teach?“ “What will I teach?” Father smiled and answered, “you will teach acceptance where some human spirits have none, and you will teach patience, and mostly you will teach others how to love unconditionally.

Father said one last thing, "Not everyone will be kind and understanding to you. Some people are afraid of what they don’t understand and act out because of that. And that is their life lesson, to learn acceptance. So you see the importance of your journey?" Graysen knew his job was an important one, even if it meant teaching only one person.

Father said one more thing, "No matter where you are, I am always watching over and protecting you. Your angel’s name is Justin. He will be by your side throughout your journey."

When you see Gray smiling, know it is me, Justin, making him laugh. When he runs around the house, know I am playing chase with him. And when he is not with you know that I am.
