The Visitor
Born 1983, M, from Atlanta,Texas, United StatesChristopher and Nicole were walking in the park. As they were walking along Nicole kept thinking about something she had found. “What is the matter?” asked Christopher. “Something I found yesterday,” said Nicole. “What was it?” asked Christopher. “You will laugh at me when I tell you,” said Nicole. “No, I want,” said Christopher. “I know you will, but I will tell you anyway. Mom wanted me to bring her a cookbook in between two cook books was a spiral notebook,” said Nicole. Christopher had a puzzled look on his face. “My curiosity got the best of me so I read what was in the notebook. It was in your mother’s handwriting and it was about traveling to different places, being a princess, and defeating enemies trying to take over the planet Utopia,” said Nicole. Christopher put his arm around Nicole. “Mom probably wanted to be a writer growing up and wrote some fictional stories. Rather than letting her throw her work away your mom kept up with it since they have been friends forever,” said Christopher.
“You are right, said Nicole putting a smile on her face. “Come on let's go get a bite to eat,” said Christopher. As they were walking towards the gate to exit the park. The two teens noticed a large glowing fireball in the sky. “What is that?” asked Nicole. “I have no idea,” said Christopher. As they stood there and stared up into the sky, debris started falling. “We need to get out of here!” shouted Nicole. They turned around and started running the other direction.
Christopher and Nicole stopped to catch their breath. “What do you think that was?” asked Nicole. “It was probably some space junk that entered the earth’s atmosphere and all of the pieces did not completely burn up,” said Christopher. They decided to turn around and go back.
As they approached the gate they saw the ground covered with burnt metal and two large holes. “What I tell you just space junk,” said Christopher as they walked past it. As they exited the gate they noticed four teenagers standing looking around.
Christopher and Nicole walked up to the four teenagers. “Can I help you?” asked Nicole. “I don’t remember what happened but we are trying to find our way home,” said Adam. “Where do you live?” asked Nicole. “Los Angeles,” said Adam. “I hate to tell you this but you are a long ways from home. You are in Texas,” said Nicole. “Texas! No way! Really!” exclaimed Kimberly. The four teenagers looked at each other with puzzled look. “I don’t know what happened but these two maybe the only ones that can help us,” said Adam. “I agree,” said Rocky. Adam stepped forward. “I am Adam, and this is Rocky,” said Adam. Rocky stepped forward and stood beside Adam. “I am Kimberly and this is Alesha, said Kimberly as she stepped forward with Alesha.
“I am Nicole and this Christopher,” said Nicole.
As the six introduced themselves Alesha noticed an unusual glowing green light coming from both of the large holes. “Look at that,” said Alesha. The six walked over to the first hole. Inside the first hole was a glass jar. Rocky reached down and picked up the jar. As he was examining the jar a sage colored face appeared. “Greeting humans,” said the sage colored face. “Who are you better yet what are you asked?” asked Alesha. “I do not know. I have lost my memory,” said the sage colored face. “This is getting too weird for me. First we end up in Texas and then we find a jar with a talking head in it,”said Kimberly. “Let’s see what is in the second hole,” said Adam. They walked over to the second hole. In the second hole was a golden locket. “That locket is so beautiful,” said Kimberly. “Wait a minute, I remember Christopher’s mom writing about a locket,” said Nicole picking up the locket. The locket began to glow as Nicole held it in her hand. “The answer to your questions are in the Book of the Secret Arts,” said the sage colored face. “What is the Book of the Secret Arts?” asked Adam. “The Book of the Secret Arts is a book that only the chosen one can understand and Nicole you are the chosen one,” said the sage color face. “Wait a minute, Book of the Secret Arts and chosen one, this is getting too strange for me,” said Nicole. “Where is this book?” asked Christopher. “The book is located between the Shadow and the Real World. You must defeat Shadow in order to get the book,” said the sage colored head. “Wait a minute how are we going to get there and what are we supposed to use to defeat this shadow character?” asked Alesha. A deck of cards appeared in each of the six teenager’s hand. “When you walk through the gate you will be teleported to Shadow’s hideout. Good luck,” said the sage colored face. The sage colored face disappeared. The six teens looked at the deck of cards in their hand. “Please tell me we are not going to listen to a head in a glass jar,” said Rocky, as the others started walking towards the gate.
When the six walked through the gate they were teleported to another dimension.”I don’t know where we are but this place gives me the creeps,” said Kimberly. “We are between the shadow and the real world, said Nicole. “I don’t care where we are at, this place is freaking me out,” said Kimberly.
As they were walking along a mysterious dark figured appeared in front of the six teens. “So they are still sending teenagers to do their dirty work. Nothing has changed in fifty thousand years,” said Shadow. “Who are you and what are you talking about?” asked Christopher. “The name is Shadow and the answer is in the Book of the Secret Arts. A book you will never get your hands on,” said Shadow with an evil laugh. “Will see about that,” said Nicole stepping forward. “Nicole, I see you have spunk just like Taylor,” said Shadow. “Leave my mother out of this!”This is between you and me,” said Nicole. “A spunky little girl, it will almost break my heart when you lose and get banished to the Shadow World,” said Shadow laughing. “The only person that is going to lose is you,” said Nicole. “I tell you what so you won’t end up in the Shadow World by yourself, I will let one of your friends join the game,” said Shadow, “Leave them out of this! This is between you and me!” shouted Nicole. “Suit yourself,” said Shadow getting ready to separate Nicole from the others. “Wait! I am not afraid to take you on,” said Kimberly. “Ah! beautiful Kimberly always putting her life in danger to help others. It will be so much fun toying with both of you in the Shadow World,” said Shadow. Kimberly walked up to where Nicole was standing. “Are you sure you want to do this?,” asked Nicole to Kimberly. “What are friends for,” said Kimberly. “How touching, now let's get started!” shouted Shadow as a deck of card appeared in his hands.
“I will start this game by playing Skeletal Remains,” said Shadow. A skeleton appeared in front of Shadow. “Now it is Kimberly’s turn,” said Shadow with an evil laugh. Kimberly drew a card from her deck and looked at it. “Well, it looks like Kimberly does not know anything about the Shadow Game. It is too bad someone of her beauty is going to end up being banished to Shadow World forever,” said Shadow with an evil laugh. “I play this card face down and end my turn,” said Kimberly nervously. A facedown card appeared in front of Kimberly. “My turn and I am going to do some serious damage to your life points,” said Nicole drawing a card from her deck. “I summon Viking Warrior,” said Nicole. A viking appeared in front of Nicole. “Viking Warrior, attack,” shouted Nicole. “You fool, Skeleton Remains has a special effect it turns your monster into a Skeleton and you lose life points equal to the monster attack points,” said Shadow laughing. “Not so fast, I play the card that I played face down and it is reflection destruction,” said Kimberly. A mirror appeared in the skeleton’s hand. The skeleton saw it’s reflection in the mirror and exploded. “Since Skeletal Remains was destroyed, you take a direct hit,” said Nicole. Shadow lost twelve hundred of his four thousand life points. “You will pay for that little stunt!” shouted Shadow.
Shadow drew a card from his deck. “I summon Toy Cannon,” said Shadow, A toy cannon appeared in front of Shadow. “Since Toy Cannon is on the field I can draw three Toy Soldiers Cards from my deck and play them this turn,” said Shadow drawing three cards from his deck. Three toy soldiers appeared in front of Shadow. “Toy Soldiers and Cannon attack Kimberly,” said Shadow. Kimberly lost two thousand of her four thousand life points.
“Oh man! Kimberly can’t take another hit like that,” said Rocky. “Come on Kim, you can still beat this creep,” said Alesha trying to boost Kimberly’s confidence.
Kimberly drew a card from her deck and looked at it. “I needed something better than this,” said Kimberly with a discouraged look. “Are you ready to surrender to the darkness?” asked Shadow. “Never!” Shouted Kimberly.
Kimberly stood trembling with fear as Shadow laughed at her trying to make her lose confidence in herself. “Ok, here goes. The worst thing that is going to happen to me is I am going to end up in some creepy place. I play Praying Angel,” said Kimberly. A praying angel statue appeared in front of Kimberly. The toy soldiers turned around, saluted Shadow, and disappeared. “NO!” shouted Shadow. “Now it is time to end this game,” said Nicole drawing a card from her deck. “I play the Spell Knights of the Round Table which allows me to summon three knights from my deck,” said Nicole. Three knights appeared in front of Nicole. “Since Praying Angel is on the field each knight gains an additional one thousand attack points. But wait it gets even better since Viking Warrior is a warrior monster he also gains an additional one thousand attack points,” said Nicole. Shadow realizing he lost the game threw his cards onto the ground and disappeared. The Book of the Secret Arts appeared in Nicole’s hand.
Rocky, Adam, Alesha, and Christopher came running up to congratulate Kimberly and Nicole on their victory.
A bright light appeared the six teenagers. “That must be the way back to the Real World,” said Adam. “I am ready to get back to the real world not only is this place creepy but it is also making my hair frizzy, said Kimberly jokingly as she ran her hand through her brown hair.
The six teens ended up back at the park where the adventure began. The sage colored face appeared in the jar. “Congratulations on a job well done. Now that the chosen one has the Book of The Secret Arts, in time all of your questions will be answered,” said the sage color face disappearing.
Christopher looked at his watch. “We need to start heading home. I don’t know where the others will stay, but we can’t just leave them,” said Christopher. “They can come over to my house and we can have a sleep over. My parents won’t care,” said Nicole. “That sounds like fun,” said Alesha.
Kimberly had a puzzle look on her face as the five headed to Nicole parent’s house. “Something wrong Kimberly,” asked Alesha. “No, I was just trying to figure out what happened just before Nicole beat that Shadow creep,” said Kimberly. Everyone stopped and looked to Nicole for an answer. “You played Praying Angel. Which is a special effect card. Any warrior type monster your opponent controls is returned to their hand and the ones on your side gains one thousand life points. It is kinda like the angel prays for the safety of the warriors controlled by evil and victory for the warriors going to battle against evil forces,” said Nicole.
“The only question, I have is what was that thing in the glass jar,” said Rocky. “Don’t worry one day the chosen will tell us,” said Kimberly laughing.
