GUYS AND GHOSTS pub by:
A fun novel about two lost ghosts and their search to be reunited.
Find in paperback, ebook and kindle under the category of fiction.
Take an old English manor in an old English village; add a handful of ghosts, two psychics, a vicar, a curate, and a haunted pub and you have all the ingredients for a funny story. This fast moving, merry read makes an ideal gift for anyone with a sense of fun and who enjoys pure entertainment.
Adelina is the eighteenth century ghost of Chinkton Manor, an estate in the Cotswold village of Chinkton Green, England. She is afflicted with enormous feet, is accident- prone and has problems gliding, which as we all know, is a necessary requirement for ghosts. Owing to this handicap, she is prevented from visiting her husband, Sir Egbert, one time baronet of Chinkton Manor. He, through no fault of his own, has ended up in the wrong haunt – The Black Dog Inn, Windermere. There he is exploited by the landlords, Harold and Doris who run ghost tours which help to pay for their holidays abroad.
Desperate to have Egbert back with her, Adelina enlists the help of two mortals, Freddie and Sophie. With some guidance from Thomas, Adelina’s one time dancing partner and lover, she masterminds a plan to free her husband’s spirit so that he can return to the manor.
‘Ms Willis writes beautifully and with great insight. Much fun to read and the living characters are sympathetically portrayed. I never realized that ghosts too have their problems.’http://tslbooks.uk/product/guys-and-ghosts-jane-lockyer-willis/
‘ A multi faceted and light hearted tale with a wonderfully descriptive narrative.'
'It's a shame there isn't a sequel.’
‘This refreshingly well written book with its whimsical entertaining style held my interest throughout.'
'A thoroughly good read & to be recommended to those who enjoy something different & an escape into the world of fantasy & humour. ‘
‘A thoroughly English tale of a rather eccentric ghost, Adelina who takes us on a frolic through the Cotswolds as she enlists help from mortals and fellow ghosts alike in her endeavours to be reunited with her dear departed husband! Great fun! ‘
‘ A light, easy read. Adelina who is the eighteenth century resident ghost of Chinkton Manor sets the scene throughout the book which
flicks back to present day. Adelina has a wonderful way of making you feel almost like a child again filling up your imagination with thoughts of childhood fears, dreams and she makes you laugh out loud at some of the situations she gets into – It was fun and funny to read and certainly nothing like anything I have read recently in my book club. I felt I could easily connect with the characters – A must read for escapism. ‘
